Women's History Network of British Columbia - Conference 2005

The Women's History Network of British Columbia’s annual conference is September 30-October 1st in Burnaby, B.C.

The theme for this year's Women's History Network of British Columbia's 2005 conference is: “Saints & Sinners: Unruly and Respectable Women in British Columbia’s History”.

Presenters include:

· Jennifer Iredale: " Enduring Threads: Church Linens Made for the Church of St. John the Divine, Yale, B.C."

· Anne Edwards: B.C.'s women politicians as 'Sinners or Saints'?

· Robert Campbell: "Into the hands of the patrons: Regulation, Gender and Negotiating Decency in Vancouver's Beer Parlours."

· Lorna Townsend: 'He was So proud of the Grit of His Little Wife': Representation and Reality in the Experiences of Early Twentieth Century Women in North-Central British Columbia."

2005's conference sessions and WHN/BC’s Annual General Meeting will be October 1st at the Burnaby Village Museum, 6501 Deer Lake Avenue, Burnaby B. C. V5G 3T6

And, Friday night, September 30th, join WHN/BC's networking dinner & hear a presentation on "British Columbia Women as Canadian Historic Persons" by Jacqueline Gresko, President of the B.C. Historical Federation & Diane Rogers, WHN/BC Chair.
